The song from B.A.P's album is called "Ribbon in the Sky", and like all of the other songs in the album, was written and composed by leader Bang Yong Guk. The title itself already seems to hint at the Sewol Ferry tragedy from back in 2014. Yellow ribbons still represent mourning for the victims of the tragedy to this day.
The netizen who brought up the topic on an online community went on to highlight lyrics in the song directed toward what may be both tributary to the Sewol Ferry tragedy, as well as the unstable state of the government.
The netizen suggested that a line which goes "The logic of that power makes me angry" expresses Bang Yong Guk's personal feelings toward the government, seeing as how the idol has produced social commentary music in the past.
Some lines in the song go on with, "The conquered mass media is fiction. Shield your eyes. All kinds of corruption and decay are options. Close your mouth. Whoa." The netizen pointed out that even during the Sewol Ferry tragedy, the media played a hand in trying to hide the more foul truths of the events.
The song continues with, "They've become rotten. The puddled water stinks. It's a party for only those who've become blinded by greed. You can't run away anymore."
Toward the end of the song, the lyrics contain the following, "Fly, up to the sky. Don't forget, even when the clouds cover them, I know. Remember, oh, ribbon in the sky."
The netizen suspected that Bang Yong Guk lyrics hope to pay tribute to the young victims of the tragedy by urging himself and his listeners to continue to remember them, even against corrupt adversaries trying to hinder them.
Other fans agreed that "Ribbon in the Sky" contains social commentary that is "both easy to understand but is still full of honest content, so that it becomes embedded in your head," and applauded Bang Yong Guk, saying, "Bang Yong Guk deserves respect... it's not just a simple song, it's a song that makes you feel a lot, which I'm grateful for and think is amazing", "When I read B.A.P's lyrics it makes me think, and when I listen to Bang Yong Guk it makes me look back on myself", "Bang Yong Guk is our pride where ever he's put out," and more.
