What was meant to be a good Samaritan deed by one Nonghyup union head backfired when he shared a photo of himself lending a helping hand at the scene of a car accident.
The Joongboo Daily reported recently that the union head had mass texted other members within the union with a message which read, "On January 12 around 3pm I was making a round of the village when I witnessed an accident involving a turned over vehicle; I contributed to a speedy rescue operation by giving emergency treatment to the victim, calling the ambulance, and directing the congested traffic." Along with this message, the union head sent an image of him posing at the scene of the accident.

When netizens saw this photo, instead of praising the union head for his resourceful actions, they criticized, "We're curious just how sincerely he works for the union when he's promoting himself by taking a picture at a scene of an accident."
The union head responded to the criticism with, "I contributed the best I could to the rescue efforts and it wasn't my intention to promote myself with the photo. I think what I did to let a few people become aware of the accident just turned into a misunderstanding."
