WINNER held an interview session with the media to talk about their return to the music scene with their latest mini album 'EXIT:E,' at a cafe in Seoul on February 1.
The boys relayed, "There was a burden we felt because thankfully, our debut album did better than we expected. Our title track was called 'Empty,' and we really felt empty," beginning the interview session with a lighthearted joke.

They added, "From wanting to make better songs than our first album and other reasons, we unintentionally were holed up in the studio and our homes. It was difficult for us but as hard as it was, it was also a time for us to grow and get a firmer grasp on the direction of our music. During our hiatus, we even got to tour in Japan, Nam Tae Hyun learned the guitar, and Song Min Ho got to participate on 'Show Me the Money.' It was a hard time but we're grateful. Thanks to those experiences, we were able to grow and take a step forward."
