'Black ocean,' also termed '10-minute' in K-Pop fandom, is a dirty way for fandoms to wage war against one another, intimidating the opposing fandom's group by staying dead silent throughout their performance stage.
A screen capture shared by a netizen shows the pitch black audience during Seventeen's performance, trying to point out that not a single light stick was seen waving in the crowd. The netizen uploaded this image with a contemptuous, "There weren't enough light sticks to go around so Seventeen fans didn't even have any, but the other fans were kind enough to turn off theirs. How nice of them, right?"
Some of the top comments on this post read, "Just what did Seventeen do wrong that they deserve the 10-minute treatment," "What's with the people opposing them kekekekeke," "Wow, there are a lot of artists that were the victims of 10-minute. Even SM artists were victims kekekekeke," "They should really just get rid of MAMA," "It's their first ever 'MAMA' stage after preparing so hard..." "It hasn't even been a year since they debuted kekekekekeke," and, "I feel so bad ?? Their fandom is already small and they don't even have an official light stick or fandom name."
