A sweet story of how a policeman stood in as a father for a parentless North Korean bride is warming the hearts of netizens!
On October 19, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's official Facebook page uploaded a warm and fuzzy tale of how a policeman had stepped in as the surrogate father for a North Korean woman at her wedding ceremony.
According to the Facebook post, Lieutenant Kim Young Shik, who usually lends a helping hand for the North Korean citizens, received a call from a North Korean woman with her wedding right around the corner.
Kim, who initially thought the woman called him to extend an invitation to her wedding, received an unusual request instead. She asked him, "Lieutenant Kim, do you think you can enter the wedding hall with me as my father?"

At this seemingly unexpected entreaty, Kim couldn't promptly give an answer; however, at the encouragement and urging of family members, Kim decided to be the woman's father for her once-in-a-lifetime, special occasion. The woman was able to walk down the aisle amidst cheerful wedding bells despite lacking kith and kin, all thanks to Kim.
The bride relayed after her wedding, "Thank you, dad. I will lead a happy life so please look over me," touching the heart of Kim and those who chanced upon the story.
