Recently, the company uploaded a public announcement on its official Facebook titled 'Musical 'Death Note' Ticket Guide.' The message went along the lines of, "We have received many reports of illegal ticket sales of our musical Death Note, and the company is now monitoring the purchase of tickets through personal, online, and other methods of sales that are not on the official site. For any host sites that are found to be selling tickets illegally, we are taking action by forcing their shutdown along with subjecting them to legal penalties. The tickets that are confirmed to have been traded illegally will be voided without prior notice and anyone in possession of those tickets on the day of the show will not be admitted. We plan to continue overseeing the illegal selling of tickets and ask everyone to cooperate by refraining from purchasing tickets through the wrong channels. When you find out instances of illegal ticket sales please notify management immediately."
After an investigation by Star News some tickets were trading at as much as 1,000,000 (~$883) KRW, with the original prices being 140,000 KRW (~$124) for VIP seating and 120,000 KRW (~$106) for standard seating.
C-JeS added, "We hope no one was inconvenienced by the illegal ticket sales and that everyone will adhere to proper performing arts culture etiquette."
