Clara and Polaris Entertainment's first date for argument in their civil suit took place on May 27 at the Seoul Central District Court.
Clara's legal representative met with the media in front of the court afterwards and said, "The sexual humiliation Clara had felt from CEO Lee Kyu Tae is just one of the reasons she filed a lawsuit for the nullification of her contract. The trust between the two parties had broken, and Polaris is the cause of this, so she filed the lawsuit."
In addition, Clara's side said on this day, "Clara never signed an exclusive contract with Polaris. It's not an exclusive contract, but an agency contract," explaining that the emails, texts, and recorded tapes would confirm this fact while the actual contract even specifically states it was not an exclusive one.
The attorney was asked by the judge what the difference was between exclusive and agent contracts and, if it were an agency contract, why her previous agency had not properly taken action when it learned of a problem with the contract. Clara's side relied, "It could have become a problem if Clara left her previous agency to establish a 1-person agency, Koreana Clara. I will add onto the content regarding this part a bit more next time."
In return, Polaris's side claimed, "Please reveal exactly which article and which clause Clara's side is claiming was a violation of Polaris's contract."

Meanwhile, this first date for pleading was supposed to have taken place back on April 8, but both sides had, in the last minute, decided to delay it. On this day, neither Clara nor CEO Lee Kyu Tae were present, rather sending their official stances through their legal representatives. Clara also plans to continue her hiatus from entertainment promotions for the time being.
