On the October 30 broadcast of 'Brave Journalists,' Boom opened up the episode by apologizing to the nation for his past actions, asking for forgiveness. In contrast to his past bright and energetic demeanor, the entertainer stood in front of the camera in a somber mood and spoke softly in a genuine tone.
He said, "I bow my head apologizing for my actions that should not be comprehended for any excuse. While I was resting, I did a lot of self-reflection. I realized how sad and unfortunate it is not being able to do what I love the most. I know I'm not in the position to be saying this but I really missed being here."

Boom continued, "From now on, I will work hard in my given position with a humble attitude, like a rookie who is broadcasting for the first time."
Meanwhile, in 2013, Boom was fined for illegal gambling and pulled out of all programs he was participating in. He took a year off to reflect on his actions before appearing on the recent airing on the show, 'Brave Journalists.'
