Kim Soo Hyun, who has been seeing hit after hit with historical dramas including 'The Moon That Embraces the Sun' and 'You Who Came From the Stars', was rumored to be in talks for another historical drama remake of 'The Night Scholar'. The rumors started spreading when it was reported that Key East Entertainment's subsidiary Contents K bought the publication rights for 'The Night Scholar' to produce a drama remake with Kim Soo Hyun as its lead actor. 'The Night Scholar' portrays the tale of a vampire scholar and takes place during the Joseon dynasty.
His agency rep cleared up the confusion to TV Daily on February 11, "[Kim Soo Hyun] has never received a casting offer for 'The Night Scholar'... There is no evidence behind these reports."
"Because his current filming schedule for SBS' 'You Who Came From the Stars' is so jam-packed, he has no time to review his next possible productions... There are scenarios that we received prior to filming for 'You Who Came From the Stars', and we are considering dramas and films as well as productions overseas in Japan, China, and more... We plan to look over it following 'You Who Came From the Stars'."
