On the Friday the 13th broadcast of 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook', MC Yoo Hee Yeol asked about the spooky hand prop, "I'm meeting F.T. Island for the first time in a while. The thing that caught my eye first is the thing on your hand. What is it?"

Hongki explained, "This? Our title track is 'Madly', and the lyrics express the story of a woman I love not existing on this earth so in order to give the feeling of a woman holding my hand, I made this." Jaejin commented, "Isn't it a bit scary?" Hongki revealed why the prop looked more scary than usual that day, "The color of it can be really pretty. But because the color needs to match with the stage outfits, there are different versions. But because it is made out of wood, it looks a little more [creepy]." 

Yoo Hee Yeol asked, "Then did you make this yourself?" Hongki shared, "A lot of famous people helped me." When asked, "Didn't you make it so that listeners can fall into the music more or express the message of the song better?" Hongki made the honest joke, "Yes, that's one of the reasons. But I also think that my agency's promotions are weak, I thought that I should try to make an issue with this at least," making his members laugh at his blunt response.

Hongki also shared that they're young veterans in the K-pop scene, "Our average age is 23. Our maknae was 16 years old when we first debuted... So to be honest, whenever we go to music shows, we're either the oldest veterans or one or two artists are above us. But there are a lot of rookie artists. For example, EXO. When I see EXO, they really shine. We crossed paths once, and a writer noona told me, 'Hongki, you've really been here for a while. No matter how blonde you dye your hair, your face doesn't shine. [Your face is] sallow."
