The 'Crayon Pop Fan Challenge' began with the goal of spreading the word about the K-pop girl group Crayon Pop. Fans act as bridge-makers for the US audience who don't know about Crayon Pop or the fun and talented side of K-pop that the group represents. The team currently consists of 8 K-Pop fans who have backgrounds in media and entertainment production, and of course, share their love for Crayon Pop.
The 'CPFC' episodes are styled much like classic Korean variety shows, similar to 'Running Man' and 'Infinite Challenge', and feature challenges in each episode. The hosts of the series are Abril and Wynter who are both fans of Crayon Pop and K-pop in general. In each episode, the duo invite contestants who have always wanted to be a part of these types of shows and play many fun, traditional Korean and silly games with Crayon Pop-themed names and content.
On August 31, the girls held a street promotion in Times Square, where the MCs handed out promotional candies and played games with random visitors in the area to give out prizes. Stay tuned for 'CPFC's first variety show video, which will feature Team Crayon Pop Fan Challenge battling against Team Tenshi No Ai in Central Park. The team will also be working with 'Kaagny' and 'The Korea Times' for the Crayon Pop's "Bar Bar Bar" flash mob at the '33rd NYC Korean Heritage Parade' on October 5.
