Some of the members of boy group X-5, who left Open World Entertainment last year after the agency CEO's sexual assault scandal, will be re-debuting as part of a new idol group!
Having left their former agency and the leader of their group, Ghun, leaving to enlist in the military, the group's future had unfortunately looked rather bleak.
Although it was last said that the boys were looking toward the direction of continuing to promote together, it seems there wasn't much choice but to break up and try to start over fresh.
Three of the members, however, have stuck together and you'll soon be seeing them as a part of a new five-member idol group, 'LU:KUS'!
Box Media commented, "LU:KUS, a 5-member boy group who posseses vocal, rap, and dance skills, will be releasing their debut album around April~May, and start their promotions."
Joining LU:KUS from X-5 will be J.One (Haewon), Donghyun, and Jinwan. In addition, Kyungjin, and Choi, who has experience promoting as a soloist, will also be part of the group to bring the total up to five member.
So what does 'LU:KUS' mean? Apparently, the name is a different way of spelling "Look Us", meaning 'look at us'.
Like their name, Box Media hopes to "raise them as a group who will promote not only in Korea, but Japan, China, South East Asian, and other parts of Asia".
