One of things people assume about Lexy is that she puts up a strong front. She looks like a difficult person who would prefer to take on impressive music stages, but 10 minutes into speaking with her, you realize that she isn't like that at all.
Not only is she honest and sincere, she isn't afraid to show people her flaws and ruin her polished image. "A lot of people assume that I avoid variety shows, but that's far from the truth," she said. "I just simply want to go on a variety program where I can show people the real me."
Lexy believes that laughter is truly the best medicine. "I learned from Psy that laughter is the most important thing," she said. "Even during a performance, laughter is really crucial. When the artist and the audience meets for the first time, you need to relieve that awkwardness, and laughter is the answer. The reason why variety shows are such a big hit and the reason why Psy is able to communicate with people all over the world is because of laughter. Doing something to bring laughter to people in a world as difficult as today is really valuable and meaningful."
She learned the power of laughter through her own experience. After stepping away from the public eye, Lexy suffered from depression and panic disorder, and the things that brought her any kind of joy were variety programs. All day, Lexy sat in her room and watched 'Infinity Challenge' and '1N2D' over and over.
"It was the only joy in my life when I was suffering from panic disorder," she said. "I don't remember if I actually laughed while watching 'Infinity Challenge', but I watched it so many times to the point where I nearly memorized the script. Television and 'Infinity Challenge' were my only friends. For some reason, it really hit home with me. If I ever run into any of the 'Infinity Challenge' cast members, I think I might cry. I really love each of the members. It's the greatest show, with the greatest people."
During her rookie days, Lexy guest-featured on SBS 'X-Men' which was hosted by MC Yoo Jae Suk, and she says she will never be able to forget his kindness. "There are so many staff members and so many guests on set, and everyone filmed together for about 15 hours. Yoo Jae Suk remembered to comfort every single person there and led them effortlessly. I still vividly remember that moment. Just like I will never forget Yoo Jae Suk, I will never forget 'Infinity Challenge'."
Lexy also hopes to get rid of her chic and inflexible image. The #1 variety program she would like to appear on is none other than 'Infinity Challenge', however, she wants to appear on a program where she can just be herself. "Please introduce me to a program where I can properly break down my image," she said.
