During a recent interview with OSEN, the girls of Rainbow Pixie remarked, "Our belly dance is being met with a positive response in Japan."
"We were upset that we couldn't perform the dance on Korean TV, but our Japanese fans are showing us a lot of support so that made up for it," they continued.
They 'belly dance' they speak of is from the original choreography of Rainbow's hit track "A" and became a hot topic of conversation amongst Korean netizens. The dance was banned after being labeled "too sexy" to air on television, but after the girls debuted with "A" in Japan, the original choreography was met with an explosive reaction from fans. They were able to perform the dance without any modifications, and the single even climbed up to #3 on the weekly Oricon chart.
"Our DSP Media label mates and seniors KARA work really hard in Japan, and we are seeing the advantages of the halo effect. We knew we had to work a lot harder, and we're so glad that our dance is being accepted again," they said.
'Rainbow Pixie' is a sub-unit of Rainbow consisting of members Seungah, Jisook, and Hyun Young, and the girls are promoting their new song, "Hoi Hoi".
