We've got all new shows for this week's episode of 'allkpop TV guide and Ratings'!
Just a reminder, this feature will discuss ratings for each week's episodes, as well as provide brief recaps (with spoilers!) of shows that we know allkpop readers are enjoying.
As we begin a new year, we'll be starting fresh with the new dramas that aired this week: MBC's 'The Moon that Embraces the Sun' (starring Kim Soo Hyun, Han Ga In, and Jung Il Woo) and KBS's 'Wild Romance' (starring Lee Si Young, Lee Dong Wook, and SNSD's Jessica). Meanwhile, KBS's 'Man of Honor' (starring Park Min Young and Chun Jung Myun) aired its finale last week, and it'll soon be replaced by a new program. Joining the crowd of Monday-Tuesday dramas this week was SBS's 'History of a Salaryman' (starring Lee Bum Soo and Hong Soo Hyun), which replaced 'A Thousand Days' Promise'. 'A Thousand Days' Promise' concluded with strong ratings, but it was a little less than what producers had hoped for. It seems that some viewers couldn't take the melodrama, and so they switched to KBS's medical series 'Brain', which reached its record rating of 17.9% and 16.7%. Following closely behind 'Brain' was MBC's 'Light and Shadow', which achieved a rating of 15%. 'History of a Salaryman' is a newcomer and so it was expected to start off slow. Surprisingly however, it went from 8.7% and steadily increased to 10%. I'm pretty sure that the producers can thank MBLAQ's Lee Joon for that. New dramas were introduced into the Wednesday-Thursday time slot as well, but the ratings garnered here were much higher than the Monday-Tuesday zone. MBC didn't have to worry about the low ratings from 'I'm a Flower, Too' carrying over into its new drama, 'The Moon That Embraces The Sun'. The saeguk appeal and the star-studded cast won over many viewers, thus clinching first place with a high rating of 20%! Trailing behind them was SBS's 'Take Care of Us, Captain' (starring Goo Hye Sun), which drew 10.5%; meanwhile, KBS's 'Wild Romance' came at a low with 6.7%. 'The Moon that Embraces The Sun' will most likely achieve even higher ratings and hold onto first place, which will leave 'Take Care of Us, Captain' and 'Wild Romance' to compete against each other.
