Philadelphia-based rapper Decipher has returned to the spotlight with a music video for his track, "Angry Asian Man".
Featuring the talents of Manifest and DJ Zo, "Angry Asian Man" was released with the rest of Decipher's The Effect album earlier this year. Decipher, a brilliant lyricist, brings this beat to a new level by delivering a track strung together with social commentary, penning lyrics about the frustrations and racist stereotypes he encounters as an Asian American in the hip hop scene.
The music video is directed by Erik Lu of Descendant Films and takes place in an American elementary school setting, with a segment shot on the streets of Korea. Powerful with a measured degree of uncomfortability, it's safe to say that Decipher strikes the right chord and has certainly stepped up his game with the release of a music video that matches the message of this track.
