Welcome to another week of 'allkpop TV guide and Ratings', an exclusive feature that spotlights three popular Korean dramas. It will discuss ratings for each week's episodes, as well as provide brief recaps (with spoilers, so watch out!) of shows that we know allkpop readers are enjoying. We've got the three regular shows being recapped for this week — 'Poseidon' (with Super Junior's Choi Siwon), 'Deep-Rooted Tree' (starring Shin Se Kyung, Jang Hyuk, and Super Junior's Kim Ki Bum), and 'Man of Honor' (starring Park Min Young and Chun Jung Myung). Let's find out how these programs did for the week of November 7th to the 12th. --- KBS's 'Poseidon' ended its broadcast with a slightly higher rating of 8.9%, a result that's sure to be disappointing for the series as it was unable to break the double digits, despite showing a steady increase as the show advanced both in tension and character development. Meanwhile, SBS's 'A Thousand Days' Promise' (starring Soo Ae and Kim Rae Won) is still holding the crown with its superior rating of 19.2%, and MBC's 'Gyebaek' rose slightly with 11.8%. To replace 'Poseidon', KBS will air new series 'Brain' next week with its first and second episode. The show underwent significant cast changes and even tried getting Song Seung Hun for the lead role, but finally settled its lineup with Shin Ha Kyun and Choi Jung Won. Even though it is unlikely for 'Brain' to overtake 'A Thousand Day's Promise', it might be able to race past 'Gyebaek' with its medical drama appeal. MBC's 'I'm a Flower, Too' aired its pilot episode with a low rating of 6.8%, but was able to steadily increase to 7.6% as the love line between Yoon Si Yoon and Lee Ji Ah unfolded. The drama also impacted rival series, 'Man of Honor', who declined to 12.7% because of viewers decamping to MBC to check out 'I'm a Flower, Too'. As for SBS's 'Deep-Rooted Tree', it experienced only a slight dip from last week, managing to hold onto its high ratings with a superior figure of 19.9%. Considering the stats, 'Deep-Rooted Tree' will most likely continue with its high ratings, but it'd be interesting to see how the rivalry between 'I'm a Flower, Too' and 'Man of Honor' pans out over the next few weeks. === [SPOILERS BELOW] !!! === ? Poseidon (KBS) Official Synopsis: Kim Sun Woo (Super Junior's Choi Siwon) spent his school days as a troublemaker, but decides to make a change in his life and joins the marine special forces team, aptly named 'Poseidon'. Sun Woo shines as a promising commando, but his career takes an unexpected turn when he becomes entangled in an unsavory incident. He becomes demoted, and gets transferred to a marine police office in Gunsan city. Sun Woo's passion for his job quickly cools down, and he slowly loses his vision as a marine police officer. One day, Jung Ryul (Lee Sung Jae) appears out of the blue, and offers Kim Sun Woo the opportunity to join his new crime investigation team in Incheon city. Will Kim Sun Woo be able to reclaim his destiny and fulfill his potential? - Recap of Ep. 16 (**Finale**): Despite the speculations over Sun Woo's death (which came about thanks to the director's predilections for killing off his male leads), the drama ended with the standard happy ending. The CGI9 was able to capture Choi Hee Goon with the clues left behind by President Lee, which helped them figure out the hidden meaning behind Choi Hee Goon's name. As it turned out, Choi Hee Goon was discovered to be none other than President Lee, a shocking development for the CGI9 team. With the bad guys put away and the mystery solved, CGI9 took a moment as they honored those who served and sacrificed for the country. Soo Yoon and Sun Woo both smiled happily as they look towards their future, holding hands at the helm of the boat. -- ? Deep-Rooted Tree (SBS) Official Synopsis: A series of murder casts a shadow over the reign of King Sejong (Han Suk Kyu). As Kang Chae Yoon (Jang Hyuk) investigates these cases to get closer to the root of the matter, he finds himself embroiled in a massive conspiracy behind the serial killings. The conspiracy involves a group of geniuses who are willing to risk their lives towards their cause, and exert secret influence to interfere with the course of Kang Chae Yoon's investigations. - Recap of Ep. 11-12: As a mysterious man waits to meet Chae Yoon at the palace, he gets kidnapped by Yoon Pyeong (Lee Soo Hyuk). Chae Yoon attempts to follow him and discovers a trail, only to find a dead body. Meanwhile, King Sejong allows Ga Ri On (Yoon Je Moon) to conduct an autopsy under the explanation of trying to discover more information about the vocal system for So Yi (Shin Se Kyung). His real motive was to help create Hangul [the Korean language]. Amidst all of this, Chae Yoon and So Yi finally remember their childhood as friends, officially beginning their long-awaited love line... -- ? Man of Honor (KBS) Official Synopsis: Yoon Jae In (Park Min Young) is a struggling young woman who dreams of becoming a nurse. She meets Kim Young Kwang (Chun Jung Myun) at the hospital after he sustained injuries. Kim Young Kwang is a baseball player who used to be hotshot hitter but got demoted to a lower rank. As they struggle to overcome their fates, the two draw closer to one another and find love. - Recap of Ep. 9-10: In Woo (Lee Jang Woo) is shocked to realize that Jae In is the daughter of deceased Chairman Yoon, as he mistakenly believed her to be Yong Kwang's sister. The loveline between Young Kwang and Jae In also spikes to another level as Young Kwang finally learns to start accepting his romantic feelings for Jae In, leading to a confession of his feelings. Intrigue also boils in this episode, as Jae In's mother becomes stronger, gathering curiosity as to what challenge she'll soon bring to In Woo's dad... === [ End of Spoilers ] !!! === Check back with next week's edition of 'allkpop TV Guide & Ratings' for our new surprise drama recap!
