The NTS film set that is being used in SBS's "Athena: Goddess of War" will be recycled and reused for "Iris 2" next year.
Jung Tae Won, the CEO of Taewon Entertainment, visited the "Athena" set on December 28th alongside Minister Yoo In Chon of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism in order to lend their support to the producers and cast members.
Yoo met with the drama staff and 11 cast members in order to discuss on the drama's copyright and production issues. The minister promised his full support after the producers revealed the difficulty in getting filming permissions for certain locations such as military training camps, police stations, and government offices, and he even complimented the beauty of the set.
Yoo stated, "Local governments are completely supportive of movie and drama filming lately, but a lot have been disappointed with the way sets have been getting destroyed and trashed after the drama ends, since a lot of investments were made in those sets. It's not a problem if sets are preserved like the NTS, but sets that are made to be trashed not only upsets the government but tourists that visit to see the sets as well."
CEO Jung commented, "In the case of 'Iris,' we hold two sets, the NTS and the Blue House, inside the Garden Five. The Blue House was recycled and is now being used in 'Athena,' and the NTS set will be recycled as well for 'Iris 2' next year."
