After a 3 year hiatus, singer Ayumi Lee returns to the music scene but this time as a whole new person as she takes upon the alias of ICONIQ. Her new single, I'm Lovin' You, features the vocals of Atsushi Sat? from EXILE, a Japanese idol group. For readers who are unfamiliar with Ayumi, she's a Korean singer who lived in Japan most of her life until she debuted in Korea with girl group Sugar. Some time after she tried to pursue her own solo career and released two digital singles, both of them being covers of other artists. After receiving heavy criticism that her Korean accent was too thick and that her music and dance gave off too much of a Japanese vibe, she retreated and has been inactive until of recent. Now Ayumi is attempting to make her solo debut in Japan with her latest single as she dons a new name and a whole new style. It seems she cut off her beautiful flowing locks of hair, too bad. Perhaps this represents her fresh new start as she dives into a new genre of R&B, uptempo and dance. Ayumi/ICONIQ will be releasing her first album in Japan in the new year on the 24th of February and will begin her full on debut. In the meantime, check out the before and after of her music below as she makes a huge transition. Cutie Honey: I'm Lovin' You:
