Some of you may be wondering, "She went to college?" Everyone knows how hard it is to get into colleges in Korea, even the shitty ones. We thought being a celebrity would give you immunity, but that apparently wasn't the case when the Wonder Girls' leader Sun Ye was rejected from and had to reapply the next year. Looks like Hyun Young(33) is smarter than we all thought. Well, then again, she must be, because with no substantial talent except a squeaky voice and a perfect body to die for, she's become one of the richest celebrities in the kingdom of K-pop. Still, am I the only one who thinks that it's crazy for her to write two books on finance and personal saving? Here's a sample of her "words of wisdom":
Money is a tool that we need for our future. We shouldn't be obsessed with money, but we can't ignore it because we need it. I always save 90% of my earnings. I also have 6 bank accounts.Thank you, Ms. Hyun Young, for your insightful thoughts. When I earn enough to live comfortably with only 10% of my pay, I'll listen to your advice, although I don't understand how having 6 bank accounts is beneficial. But who am I to judge, even if I'm majoring in economics? Both of her books, "Hyun Young's Savings Diary" and "Hyun Young Unni's Words of Wisdom on Economics" were bestsellers. My trust in the nation with the highest average IQ in the world has just plummeted. During her college days, Hyun Young worked a variety of jobs - serving in restaurants, selling water purifiers door-to-door, selling watermelons, selling children's videos (I'm sure she sold adult videos too), selling flowers, teaching aerobics, etc. - and says that she accumulated about 50,000,000 won. "I didn't like working hard for money, but I learned from early on that you need money in this world." Good job, Ms. Hyun Young. Now, not only will we be green with envy when we see your legs, but also at the numbers printed in your 6 bank accounts.
