Kang Daniel recently made an appearance on appeared on 'Mr. House Husband 2,' where he shared his thoughts on his 15-month career hiatus.
As previously reported, Kang Daniel will be making a comeback on September 23 with his 5th mini album 'ACT,' his first release under new label ARA. The release comes roughly 15 months after his last album, 'REALIEZ,' which was released in June 2023. The extended hiatus was largely due to legal disputes with a major shareholder of former label KONNECT Entertainment, who allegedly used their position to embezzle company funds and forge a corporate seal to sign a music distribution contract worth 10 billion KRW (~$7.5 million USD).
During the September 21 episode of 'Mr. House Husband 2,' he revealed his feelings during his break from activities for the first time, saying, "Having to work when you can't is even harder than when you want to rest but can't. It really starts to eat away at you. At the time, I wasn’t the only one at the company [KONNECT Entertainment]. I didn’t want to cause any trouble for other artists, so I held out for a long time and couldn’t take a break. I was basically stuck at home. But now, I’m okay and working hard at a new agency."
He added, "I’m excited. I really wanted to work. I genuinely wanted to labor," expressing his eagerness to get back to his career.
Meanwhile, taking his desire for 'labor' playfully, the production team sent Kang Daniel and his friends, the 'Street Man Fighter' dance crew WE DEM BOYZ, on a farming activity trip disguised as a team-building event. During the trip, the group dressed in farming gear from head to toe, working alongside a rural grandmother, and fully embraced their roles as farmers.
