TWICE's Jungyeon recently opened up about life after her break from group activities back in 2021.
On July 20 KST, singer Kim Jaejoong appeared as a special guest on the first episode of Jungyeon's YouTube show 'The Inspector,' titled 'I Raided Kim Jaejoong's Company.'
During the episode, the two shared their experiences and insights as veteran idols, toured Kim Jaejoong's agency building, and even went out to eat some spicy food together.
While on the way to the restaurant, Kim Jaejoong explained that the reason he eats spicy food is to relieve stress. He shared that he enjoys drinking alone, having even recently drunk some makgeolli at a convenience store. Jungyeon found herself relating to relaxing in such a simple way, saying, "We can't do those kinds of things as part of our daily routine, so doing those small things makes me happier."
Jungyeon continued, "There was a time when I had to stop my activities [as a singer]. After that, I think I've been trying to keep my mind more at ease." Kim Jaejoong nodded along, replying that it is important to take care of your mental well-being.
When he asked her how she has taken care of herself lately, she responded, "These days, I'm trying to find more hobbies. It gives me motivation. Thinking 'After work, I can do my hobby' gives me strength."
Kim Jaejoong advised, "After doing this for about 20 years, I’ve learned to appreciate the small things. In the past, I was on stage at a big concert hall. Although the size of the venues has decreased, I think more about how I can give back to the fans. I thought a lot about what I could do. Expressions like 'thank you' and 'I love you' were difficult for me when I was in my teens and 20s, but now I've gotten better at it as time has gone by."
