Psy has opened up about the recent cancellation of his concert in Gwacheon.
On July 20 KST, Psy was performing at Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon as part of his 2024 Summer Swag tour. However, due to heavy rain and gusty winds shaking the stage equipment, the organizers decided to cancel the concert after just one hour and sent the audience home.
Later, Psy took to his personal Instagram account to write a lengthy message to attendees, saying, "The sudden downpour, windstorm, and lightning were unpredictable and unprecedented. At that moment, the most important thing was the safety of the audience and staff. I am extremely grateful to the audience who handled the situation calmly."
He continued, "I would like to thank our staff who did their best to ensure a safe return home, Gwacheon City Hall, the police station, the fire station, Seoul Grand Park, and all related agencies. Everyone came from afar with high expectations today, but due to unexpected weather conditions, we had no choice but to cancel the concert. I was also heartbroken to see everyone leaving. However, nothing is more important than the safety of the audience. Thank you once again for your understanding."
Meanwhile, Psy plans to announce whether the Gwacheon concert will be rescheduled. In the meantime, refunds were made available to all who attended, and those who want to attend the rescheduled concert will have the opportunity to secure a spot.
