Actress-turned-YouTuber Ssoyoung revealed she makes more money in a month as a YouTuber than 14 years of her income as an actress.
On the June 24th episode of MBN's variety show 'Dongchimi,' Mukbang YouTuber Ssoyoung made a guest appearance. She currently has 9.94M subscribers. On the show, she shared how she turned to YouTube. About 5 or 6 years ago, she said she didn't have much work for 2 years so her checking account had about 37,000 KRW (about USD 28). "Before I decided to quit my job as an actress, I wanted to drink. After paying for the utility, I had little to no money so I only bought the drinks (soju) from the convenience store. I had instant ramen with pepper after I got home. I was watching YouTube then and saw people posting videos of themselves eating. That's how I started."
Regarding her income now, she revealed, "It fluctuates every month depending on the sponsorships and views. I was an actress for 14 years but I now make more in a month than all those years combined."
Meanwhile, Ssoyoung started YouTube back in 2019. She debuted as an actress back in 2004 with 'Bunshinsaba' as an under-five.

If you can make a successful youtube channel, there is definitely money to be made. She got herself into a niche that suits her and she is making the most of it.
