Wonjun: Hello, I am E'LAST Wonjun. I know I'm talking about hair again, but I dyed my hair blue today as well and my scalp was burning. (Laughs) It hurt so bad! It feels like there's a fire up there.
Choi In: It looks nice, though!
Baek Gyeol: Hello! I am E'LAST's Baek Gyeol. My TMI is that I'm good looking today, as always.
E'LAST: Wow! Wow!
Baek Gyeol: Thank you, thank you!
allkpop: How did you come up with the name E'LAST and what does it mean to you as a group?
Rano: Our team name was made by our CEO and company staff members, who put a lot of thought into it. They made us an amazing name and gifted it to us. It's short for 'Everlasting'. The meaning goes along with 'eternity', 'immortality', and 'fusion'. It means that we are going to be together forever with our fans, who love us and support us.
allkpop: Your latest single "Thrill" made a big splash with a visually-appealing and fashion forward concept! What inspired you to write this song and what message do you hope to convey to your fans through it?
Yejun: We listened to this song ever since we decided to come back with a digital single. We wanted to show everyone new sides of us, along with various concepts. We wanted them to feel that "E'LAST can eat this kind of concept up as well."
allkpop: Your music videos often feature stunning visuals and intricate choreography. What goes into the planning and execution of a music video shoot? What's the hardest part for you?
Wonjun: When it comes to E'LAST's music videos, I can very confidently say that our choreography is impressively in sync. Even though the vocals don't go into the MV directly, because I know we are great actors as well. I think the acting is a huge part of an MV. Therefore, it is important that we pour our absolute best acting into a scene. That's why when I practice together with our members, we practice lip syncing a lot. Also, when we're acting, we put a lot of thought into how to make the scene outstanding.
allkpop: Your group has a variety of talents from singing to dancing to composing. How do you collaborate and support each other in these different areas? Are there any focuses that you want to improve on?
Won Hyuk: We often use expressions like "live performance pros" when we introduce ourselves. It's because we are very aware of ourselves and our live performance, even when we are just practicing. We are practicing with great effort. Personally, what I hope gets better is, that of course our live vocal becomes more perfected, as well as our performance, but (ultimately) that we become a group that is incomparable when it comes to live performances.
allkpop: Of all the concepts you've done- ballad, high-energy, dance, mellow, etc. Which is your favorite?
Romin: Personally, when I'm listening to songs, I listen to the pop genre. But, if I were to choose between our songs, I would choose "Dangerous", which is a dance song. It is because we are the most confident in performing this song when we're on stage.
allkpop: It was recently announced that you'll be heading to North America! Is there a particular place or country that you're looking forward to performing in? Any songs or performances you're excited to showcase?
Yejun: More so than any particular country, we would love to go to many different countries more than anything. Personally, I want to visit Europe sometime. We want to open concerts with a powerful performance, through exciting songs that will be out in the future.
allkpop: Anything you want to see or do during your time overseas? Any places you'd like to explore a bit if you have time?
Wonjun: When I'm overseas, it doesn't matter where it is, I want to walk around the local tourist spots with our members. And eat good food!
allkpop: What's next for E'LAST? Are there any upcoming plans or projects that you're particularly excited about?
Baek Gyeol: What's next is our own little secret! You know what it is!
E'LAST: (laughs)
allkpop: Now for some fun questions! What's your favorite trendy dance choreography to do right now?
Rano: I think it is KAI sunbaemnim's "Rover".
allkpop: What's one K-Pop song that you have on repeat right now?
Baek Gyeol: For me, I have been listening to "Abyss" by Woodz a lot these days.
allkpop: What's one food you really want to eat when you go to North America?
Choi In: Since we're not visiting just one country for our North American tour, we want to have the local signature dishes of each country, just like Kimchi Stew and Bulgogi when it comes to Korea! I'm really looking forward to it!
allkpop: What is one artist that you're inspired by?
Romin: I personally think the flow of the movement is very important. Regarding that, I'm always influenced and inspired by Taeyong of NCT 127. Another important thing is the timbre and character of the voice. Jungkook of BTS has inspired me heavily there.
allkpop: If you could trade places with one idol for a day, who would it be and why?
Won Hyuk: Honestly, I'm very content and happy being E'LAST... but, if I had to pick... I think I would like to try being a BTS member, who are widely spreading the positive influence of K-Pop everywhere. I would like to know how it feels to perform in front of such a massive audience.
