On February 18, SHINee's Minho appeared as a guest on 'Jessi's Showterview'!
On this day, Minho shared how he's been spending his time after being discharged from his mandatory military service, taking part in a casual, a little chaotic(?) interview with Jessi.
In the interview, Jessi asked Minho, "How did you end up joining SHINee?" He answered, "I was cast on the street. It was at a ski resort. I was eating tteokbokki at the time. I saw that these three women kept following me and my brother, so we avoided them. But then they came running and gave me a business card. It was an SM Entertainment business card. They also kept asking me for my contact information."
Minho continued, "I didn't have a cell phone at the time, so I just gave them my home phone number. Afterward, I gave my mom the business card. But that was a time when there were a lot of street casting scams going around. So my mom just ripped the business card up in front of me. But even after that, they kept calling our house, and also somehow found out where I went to school and kept showing up at my school."
Eventually, Minho recalled, "My mom finally let me audition due to their persistence. I went and tried it out, and it was a lot of fun. So I decided I wanted to become a singer."
Minho also added on fondly, "I was really happy back then when Super Junior's Shindong hyung taught me some dance moves. He taught me how to do the basics, like the moonwalk."
SM is notorious for its street casting. Lol. They just look at a kid's face and see that they're handsome/ beautiful enough to be an idol.
