On January 23, former national rhythmic gymnast Son Yeon Jae shared a glimpse into her life’s new chapter through her social media account.
She greeted her followers with a heartfelt message: "Hello! It's been a while since I last said hi. I hope you're having a great 2025. Though it's a bit late, I wish you all a Happy New Year!" alongside some photos.
Son then shared that she has been personally happy recently, mentioning, "I’m currently very happy with many things in my life, focusing on motherhood and doing well."
In the post, she officially announced her new professional journey, revealing that she has joined The Seed Company starting from 2025. "I’m excited to start a new chapter with The Seed Company and look forward to your continued support," she wrote.
Son also expressed her passion for nurturing future rhythmic gymnasts, stating, "I will continue to work hard so that I can help cultivate good athletes." Additionally, she mentioned an upcoming event, "The Leaf Challenge Cup will be held in November, so I hope for many participants."
One of the accompanying photos showed Son holding a hoop in a graceful pose, captivating fans with her timeless elegance and the refined precision typical of rhythmic gymnasts.
Son Yeon Jae made history as a national representative by competing in the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics, contributing significantly to the growth of rhythmic gymnastics in South Korea.
After retiring, she married a man in the financial sector, nine years her senior, in 2022, and welcomed her son last February, embarking on a new life as a mother. Since retiring, Son has been dedicated to training future rhythmic gymnasts and running a gymnastics academy.
