The production team of 'Good Day' has addressed allegations that they blocked overseas access to Kim Soo Hyun’s video while keeping it available in South Korea.
On March 17, an official from MBC's variety show 'Good Day' told SPOTV News, "Due to copyright issues, the video was originally set to private in certain overseas regions."
Kim Soo Hyun had been appearing on 'Good Day' as a member of '88 Nation.' However, the show became embroiled in controversy after allegations surfaced that he had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor. Additionally, it was claimed that, despite Kim Sae Ron facing financial difficulties after halting her activities due to a drunk driving accident, Kim Soo Hyun and his family's agency pressured her to repay 700 million KRW (~484,743 USD) borrowed for damage settlement.
Furthermore, some netizens accused the production team of selectively restricting overseas access to a video of Kim Soo Hyun singing "Wearing a Black Skirt" while keeping it viewable in South Korea.
The 'Good Day' team has announced plans to edit out Kim Soo Hyun’s appearances as much as possible. The production staff stated, "We recognize the severity of the controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun’s participation and are proceeding with production while prioritizing audience feedback." They added, "Good Day General Assembly was filmed on February 18 and will be aired over the next six to seven episodes, but we have decided to minimize Kim Soo Hyun's screen time." They also confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun's individual recording session on March 13 will not be broadcast.
