Zhoumi uploaded two photos on his social media account with the caption, "Our No.1 singer Eunhyuk! Good luck on your final broadcast today!" The images featured Kangin and Zhoumi visiting the set of MBC’s music program 'Show! Music Core' to support Eunhyuk’s comeback.
Kangin’s rare public appearance attracted attention. He sported a 5:5 parted hairstyle, thick-rimmed glasses, and a denim shirt layered with a striped knit sweater, showcasing a casual 'boyfriend look.' However, some noted that he appeared to have gained weight following a previous weight loss.
Despite the nostalgic moment for fans, Zhoumi quickly deleted the post within minutes, likely conscious of Kangin’s past controversies. Kangin had been involved in multiple incidents, including a hit-and-run drunk driving accident in October 2009 and another drunk driving case in May 2016, where he crashed into a streetlight. Following his second DUI, allegations surfaced of him assaulting his girlfriend. As a result, he officially left Super Junior in 2019.
Since he departed from the group, Kangin has largely stayed away from the entertainment industry. However, he launched a YouTube channel, 'Kang In' in 2023, marking a tentative return to the public eye.
