Comedian Lee Su Ji’s new alter ego, 'Daechi Mom', 'Jamie Mom', continues to generate buzz online. While the parody has sparked laughter, it has also drawn unexpected controversy, particularly involving actress Han Ga In. Meanwhile, fellow comedian Kim Ji Hye’s enthusiastic reaction has further fueled its popularity.
Lee Su Ji recently introduced 'Jamie Mom', a satire of Daechi-dong mothers, through her YouTube channel 'Hot Issue Ji'. The character’s exaggerated depiction of elite-minded, overly competitive mothers in Seoul’s affluent Daechi-dong district quickly went viral. However, as its popularity soared, some netizens misinterpreted the parody as a direct jab at Han Ga In, leading to an influx of harsh comments directed at the actress.
Despite the unintended controversy, Lee Suji released a second installment of the parody on February 25, showcasing an even more extravagant 'Daechi Mom' look. In the first episode, she wore a popular M-brand down jacket, which immediately influenced second-hand market sales of the same item. The second episode featured a mink fur vest and a designer G-brand handbag, further cementing Jamie Mom as a satirical icon of luxury-obsessed mothers.
