Gyuvin of ZEROBASEONE and Dohoon of TWS have been selected as the new MCs for MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’, replacing the outgoing trio Younghoon of The Boyz, Sullyoon of NMIXX, and actor Lee Jung Ha, who will step down on February 15.
According to an exclusive report by Ilgan Sports on February 10, Gyuvin and Dohoon will serve as the 24th generation MCs for the show. Joining them as the female MC is a member of SM Entertainment’s soon-to-debut girl group Hearts2Hearts, which will release its debut single ‘The Chase’ on February 24. The new MC lineup is expected to take over hosting duties in March.
Gyuvin previously showcased his hosting abilities as a special MC on ‘Show! Music Core’ for five weeks last August. In a recent live broadcast, he expressed his fondness for the program by sharing that he had set a background photo of himself with former MCs Younghoon and Lee Jung Ha. With fellow ZEROBASEONE members Seong Han Bin and Han Yu Jin already serving as MCs on ‘M Countdown’ and ‘Inkigayo’ respectively, there is growing anticipation for Gyubin's performance on ‘Show! Music Core’.
Meanwhile, Dohoon, who debuted with TWS in January last year, made history by becoming the first rookie to host MBC's ‘2024 Gayo Daejejeon WANNABE’. He also served as a special MC on ‘Show! Music Core’ in February and July, impressing viewers with his stable and engaging hosting skills.
The female MC from Hearts2Hearts marks a rare case of a group member securing a music show MC position before debut. The group is set to officially enter the music scene with their single ‘The Chase’.
Fans are eager to see how these three rising stars from 5th-generation idol groups will work together as the new faces of ‘Show! Music Core’.
