NewJeans has unveiled a new activity name, "NJZ," and their agency, ADOR, has issued a statement regarding the matter.
On February 7, ADOR conveyed an official statement to TV Report, saying, "We would like to share ADOR's position regarding the announcement of NewJeans' new name."
Earlier that day, NewJeans revealed their new group name, "NJZ," signaling a resumption of activities. In response, the agency expressed regret, stating, "We find it deeply unfortunate that the members made this unilateral decision even before a legal ruling on the validity of their exclusive contracts with ADOR."
ADOR emphasized its commitment to protecting NewJeans' brand value and reiterated, "We want to make it clear once again that we are always ready to meet with NewJeans members or their legal representatives to clear up any misunderstandings and discuss future activity plans."

Since last year, NewJeans and ADOR have been in dispute over their exclusive contracts. NewJeans' side asserts that the contracts have been terminated due to ADOR's breaches. At a press conference regarding the contract termination, NewJeans members claimed that ADOR was obligated to manage the group in good faith for their benefit. However, they stated that despite a 14-day correction period, ADOR refused to rectify any issues, leaving the situation unresolved.
Meanwhile, ADOR maintains that the exclusive contracts with NewJeans are still valid. In December last year, the agency filed a lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the contracts. Additionally, it filed an injunction to prohibit the members from signing contracts with other agencies or engaging in advertising deals. The legal battle is set to begin in earnest next month.
Despite the ongoing dispute, NewJeans, now under the new name NJZ, is scheduled to perform at 'ComplexCon Hong Kong' next month. Member Hanni also hinted at a new song release in an interview with CNN.
