Actor Kim Sung Cheol, along with two other male celebrities, has reportedly been spotted engaging in controversial online activity objectifying female idols.
According to media reports and community forums, Kim Sung Cheol participated in a poll conducted by the Instagram account idol.sojang, which has been criticized for uploading stage videos deliberately edited with slow-motion effects. This type of manipulation has sparked accusations that the account engages in the sexual harassment of female celebrities. The account has over 210,000 followers.
Using his official public Instagram account, Kim Sung Cheol voted in a poll comparing Kwon Eun Bi and Kang Hye Won, as evidenced by traces left behind and gathered by netizens.
Meanwhile, reports also indicate that MeloMance's Kim Min Seok participated in a voting poll on the same Instagram account on January 22.
Additionally, actor Kim Min Seok reportedly left a comment on a post from the same account seven weeks ago, writing, "Manchester is red… hmm…"
Many netizens are now questioning whether MeloMance's Kim Min Seok and actor Kim Sung Cheol voted in the poll believing their participation would remain private.
However, in Kim Min Seok's case, he openly used his official account to leave a comment in a public section visible to an unspecified number of people, surprising many.
Netizen reactions include:
"Didn't know the poll would be visible, huh? And they'll just use 'it was a mistake' as an excuse again."
"Wow, first Park Sung Hoon, then Chu Young Woo… just when they start gaining popularity, something always blows up lol."
"This is why image management is crucial for celebrities. If an ordinary guy did this, people would just say, 'So what?' But when a celebrity does it, it completely ruins the immersion when watching their dramas or movies. Every time I see their face, I just think, 'Ah, he's probably drooling over female celebrities' bodies right now.' That's the only thought that comes to mind."
"They don’t even have the right to judge others, yet they act so damn entitled."
"Why is it always male actors embarrassing themselves like this?"
"This is why companies should manage celebrities' social media accounts. They shouldn't be handling their public accounts themselves."
"I've said this over and over again—male celebrities are all the same. The only difference is whether they get caught or not. Stop thinking, 'This person would never do that…' lol."
"There's also Ahn Bo Hyun. He was subscribed to that misogynistic YouTuber Ppukga or whatever, and there was also controversy over him making a female staff member hold his script for him."
"He didn't even bother using a private account lol."
"Is it really that hard for Korean men to treat women like human beings? Why are they so desperate to objectify them? And those comments like, 'You're ugly anyway, so it doesn't affect you'—do they not realize that's also a form of violence against pretty women?"
"It's getting harder and harder to like male idols and actors… I think I should just go back to stanning girl groups."
"Lololol, he should've at least used a private account."
