On January 29, the '2024 SBS Entertainment Awards 'was broadcast live from Sangam SBS Prism Tower, with hosts Jun Hyun Moo, Lee Hyun Yi, and Jang Do Yeon leading the ceremony.
During the event, Jun Hyun Moo took part in an opening magic performance, and the nominees for the Grand Prize (Daesang) were revealed: Yoo Jae Suk, Jun Hyun Moo, Shin Dong Yup, Lee Sang Min, Seo Jang Hoon, Lee Hyun Yi, and Kim Jong Kook.
The Rookie Award went to Yoo Yeon Seok from 'Whenever Possible' and Jin Sun Kyu from 'The Magic Star.' When Yoo Yeon Seok received his award from Yoo Jae Suk, his co-host on 'Whenever Possible,' he jokingly referred to him as his “MC mom” and quipped that he would start calling him "Umma (Mom)" from now on.
The Rising Star Award was given to Ji Ye Eun and Kang Hoon from 'Running Man.' Ji Ye Eun, who had always dreamed of appearing on 'Running Man,' broke down in tears, overwhelmed by achieving her lifelong goal.
The Grand Prize (Daesang) was awarded to Yoo Jae Suk. In his acceptance speech, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to his beloved wife Na Kyung Eun, his family, as well as the production teams and members of 'Running Man' and 'Whenever Possible.'
He reflected on his long journey in the industry, saying, "I received my first Grand Prize in 2005. Now, I have won my 20th. I never imagined this day would come. There is something truly meaningful about winning my 20th Grand Prize in 20 years."
He concluded his speech with an emotional declaration: "In the end, I did it."
