On the morning of January 8th, 2025, MBC unveiled its highly anticipated drama lineup for the new year. With a total of seven dramas set to air throughout the year, viewers will be treated to an exciting mix of genres, from romantic comedies to historical fantasy and thrilling spy tales.

The first drama to premiere on January 10th is 'Motel California,' followed by the highly anticipated 'The Moon Flows in This River' later in the year.

The first highlight is 'Motel California,' starring Lee Se Young, affectionately known as 'MBC's daughter.' This drama tells the story of Ji Kang Hee (Lee Se Young), a woman who grew up in a countryside motel and reunited with her first love, Cheon Yeon Su (Na In Woo), after fleeing her hometown 12 years ago.

Based on the popular novel Home, Bitter Home by Shim Yun Seo, this romantic drama features a stellar cast, including the versatile actor Choi Min Soo. It promises a heartwarming portrayal of first love, with a special focus on the main characters' growth from childhood to adulthood.

Following this, 'Undercover High School' starring Seo Kang Joon and Jin Ki Joo brings a fresh twist to the spy genre.

The drama follows a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who goes undercover as a high school student to track down a missing gold treasure from the era of Emperor Gojong. Seo Kang Joon plays Jeong Hae Seong, a character thrust into the world of high school life in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.

The drama 'Crushology 101', based on the popular Kakao webtoon, follows the romantic challenges faced by Ban Hee Jin (played by Noh Jeong Eui) and Hwang Jae Yeol (played by Lee Chae Min), a top student whose first love ended in failure.

The series depicts her comedic attempts to navigate the world of romance as she encounters various charming male characters.

On the horizon for spring, 'Oh My Ghost Clients', a comedic fantasy drama, will also be a highlight. Starring Jung Kyung Ho as the titular character, Noo Jin, a labor lawyer who can see ghosts, this drama blends elements of comedy and fantasy as it explores labor issues in a lighthearted but meaningful way.

Seol In Ah joins the cast, bringing additional charm and depth to this intriguing story. Fans can look forward to a unique mix of humor, supernatural intrigue, and social commentary.

In addition, 'Mary Kills People,' a darkly comedic drama based on the Canadian series of the same name, will showcase the complex life of a doctor (played by Lee Bo Young) who assists terminally ill patients with euthanasia, while being pursued by a pursued by a determined detective (played by Lee Min Ki).

Other exciting projects include 'Go to the Moon,' a unique take on the desire for financial success, starring Lee Sun Bin, Ra Mi Ran, Jo Aram, and Kim Young Dae as three ordinary women navigating life’s challenges in a humorous and touching way.

Finally, MBC's historical romance 'The Moon Flows in This River' will captivate audiences with its heartwarming story of a crown prince (played by Kang Tae Oh) who, after a body-switching event with a commoner (played by Kim Se Jeong), embarks on an unexpected journey of love and revenge.
