Actor Park Min Young becomes a free agent.
As of December 31st KST, actor Park Min Young has officially ended her exclusive contract with Hook Entertainment, her agency of three years since 2021. According to a January 1st report, both parties amicably decided to part ways after discussions.
Hook Entertainment recently underwent significant changes in its ownership. Initially acquired by Chorokbaem Media in December 2021, the agency became a subsidiary of private equity firm Q Capital Partners in August 2023. Q Capital Partners is notable for its investments in cultural content, having backed prominent films like ‘Parasite’, ‘Ashfall’, and ‘Exit’.
Park Min Young is currently immersed in filming her upcoming project ‘Confidence Man KR’ (working title). Adapted from the Japanese series ‘Confidence Man JP’, the story follows a trio of skilled con artists targeting corrupt corporations, mafia bosses, and other morally bankrupt individuals to swindle them out of their wealth in inventive ways.
The Korean adaptation of ‘Confidence Man KR’ is directed by Nam Ki Hoon (‘Casino,’ ‘Destined With You’) and written by Hong Seung Hyun (‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘The Ghost-Seeing Detective Cheo-yong’). Details on its broadcast schedule remain undecided.
