Lee Na Eun has shared an update on social media, marking her first public activity in nearly three months since the controversy surrounding YouTuber Kwak Tube (Kwak Joon Bin).
On December 18, Lee Na Eun posted photos and videos on her social media account, giving fans an update on her life. In the photos, Lee Na Eun is seen enjoying her daily life, visiting woodwork shops and preparing for the holidays, decorating a Christmas tree.
Back in September, YouTuber Kwak Tube uploaded a video titled "My First Romantic Week in Italy" on his YouTube channel. The video featured Kwak Tube and Lee Na Eun traveling together in Italy, which quickly sparked public interest.
In the video, while dining at a restaurant in Italy, Kwak Tube mentioned Lee Na Eun's past involvement in allegations of school bullying and ostracizing a group member. He commented, "I'm sensitive when it comes to topics about school bullying," and went on to apologize, saying, "I think I misunderstood you back then. I'm sorry." In response, Lee Na Eun shared her feelings about that period, saying, "I was really upset and sad at the time."
However, after the video was released, criticism arose online, with netizens accusing Kwak Tube of attempting to "clean up" Lee Na Eun's image. The backlash prompted Kwak Tube to make the video private, and he later apologized, admitting, "I didn't think it through carefully during the production process."
Lee Na Eun was previously embroiled in controversy in 2021 when allegations surfaced that she had bullied fellow APRIL member Lee Hyun Joo during their time in the group. The allegations began after individuals claiming to be Lee Hyun Joo’s younger brother and friends posted online, stating that Lee Hyun Joo had left the group due to bullying and mistreatment by her fellow members.
In response, APRIL's agency filed a defamation lawsuit against Lee Hyun Joo’s younger brother. However, after an investigation, police concluded that "some of the conflicts appear to be true," and the case was dismissed. The prosecution later determined that "while there was conflict, it is difficult to conclusively label it as bullying."
