Even during his military service, BTS member Jimin continues to inspire with his acts of generosity, donating 100 million KRW ($72,000) to support soldiers and their families.

On November 22, the Chungnam Community Chest of Korea announced that Jimin contributed 100 million KRW ($72,000) to the 'Dedication to the Nation, Love for Comrades Fund,' a program managed by the Army since 2018. This donation qualified him for membership in the Honor Society, a prestigious group of donors who give over 100 million KRW ($72,000).

This marks Jimin’s second time making such a substantial contribution. In 2021, he donated over 100 million KRW ($72,000) to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, earning membership in the Green Noble Club. His recent military service-era donation adds even more significance to his legacy of giving.

According to the organization, the funds will aid Army personnel and their families, covering living expenses, medical bills, and scholarships for those who have made sacrifices for the nation.

Jimin’s philanthropy extends far beyond this donation. In 2018, he funded school uniforms for students at his alma mater. In 2019, he donated 100 million KRW ($72,000) to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education. In 2020, he replaced 1,200 desks and chairs at Busan High School of Arts and contributed another 100 million KRW ($72,000) to the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation for scholarships.

In 2021, Jimin gave 100 million KRW ($72,000) to Rotary International for global polio efforts. In 2022, he donated the same amount to the Gangwon Education Office. In 2023, he supported earthquake relief for children in Turkey and Syria with 100 million KRW ($72,000) to UNICEF Korea and celebrated his solo album debut by giving 100 million KRW ($72,000) to the Chungbuk Education Office.

Over the years, Jimin has also donated a total of $1.2 million to his alma mater, Busan High School of Arts, including about $22,000 in scholarships in August 2023.

Even in military service, Jimin’s giving continues. In April 2024, he provided scholarships to Dong Eui Institute of Technology University in Busan, and in May, his father donated 100 million KRW ($72,000) to the Gyeongnam Education Office on Jimin’s behalf. These contributions benefit underprivileged children and improve education environments.

Jimin’s unwavering commitment to philanthropy highlights his compassion and responsibility. Fans worldwide admire his dedication to making a positive impact, proving that even while serving his country, he remains a beacon of kindness and generosity.
