Kang Hoon revealed his fanboy admiration for Girls' Generation’s Taeyeon.
On the 9th, comedian Park Na Rae’s YouTube channel 'Na Rae Sik' featured a video titled "Kang Hoon | There's no communication..? But I like this kind of thing [Na Rae Sik]". The episode featured actor Kang Hoon as a guest.
During the video, Park Na Rae joked, “You’ve been busy with drama filming, variety shows, and flirting.” Kang Hoon laughed, responding, “No, what are you talking about?”
Previously, Kang Hoon had shared an episode on a variety show about growing up being hit by his older sister. When asked about his sister’s reaction to the story, he said, “She didn’t say much. She just said, ‘It’s good if you become popular from something like that.’ She’s always thinking of me. I’ve also given her gifts. Recently, she needed a MacBook, so I bought it for her. After that, she’s been calling me ‘my little brother, our brother.’”
Recalling Kang Hoon’s humorous moments on variety shows, Park Na Rae remarked, “There’s a bit of madness in you. That’s the highest compliment in the variety world,” to which Kang Hoon humorously responded, “But I’m an actor.”
Kang Hoon, who debuted in 2014 with a short film, shared his journey, saying, “Back then, web dramas were on the rise. I personally went to a production company and handed in my profile, which led to my casting.” When asked about when he gained recognition, he mentioned, “Many people loved 'The Red Sleeve'. I was cast for a different role initially, but the director must have seen something during my audition.”
When asked about his dreams, Kang Hoon said, “I want people to recognize me in character quizzes and get my name right,” drawing laughter.
Kang Hoon also opened up about his dating style. Not a "forever single," he explained, “I tend to observe people for a long time until I’m sure. I make them like me.” He added, “I’m the type who takes care of others. I like small and cute people.”
Kang Hoon revealed that his acting journey began thanks to his admiration for Girls' Generation’s Taeyeon. “She was the first idol I ever liked. Thinking about it now, she’s the first and last idol I’ve ever liked. I’ve never seen her in person.” He went on to share, “There used to be an app called 'UFO' where you could exchange messages with stars. I sent her a message, saying I was a student dreaming of becoming an actor, and she replied with a long message. I bragged about it to my whole school.”
During the video, Park Na Rae surprised him with a special video message from Taeyeon herself, in which she said, “I hope we can meet someday.” Embarrassed and overwhelmed, Kang Hoon blushed and said, “The fact that she knows I exist is enough.” He added, “If I ever meet her, I’d like to thank her. She made my high school days shine brighter.”
