Goo Hye Sun shared behind-the-scenes details about her casting in the 15-year-old drama 'Boys Over Flowers.'
Goo Hye Sun shared stories about her career on the October 24th broadcast of KBS 2TV’s 'Park Won Sook’s Let’s Live Together' Season 3.
During the show, Goo Hye Sun revealed how she was cast for her iconic role as Geum Jan Di in the 2009 drama 'Boys Over Flowers.' Reflecting on the audition, she said, “They said to my face that I was too old. I was 24 at the time.”
She went on to explain that, in response to the production team’s hesitation to cast her due to her age, she candidly told them, “If you’re not satisfied with me, you don’t have to cast me. I’ll leave first, and you can contact me later if you want.”
Goo Hye Sun added that the writer, impressed by her straightforward response, said, “This is the type of personality we need (for the role),” and she was cast on the spot.
Park Won Sook’s 'Let’s Live Together Season 3' airs every Thursday at 8:30 PM and features middle-aged female stars, who once enjoyed glamorous careers, who are now preparing for the second half of their lives while living together.
