Aespa has taken over global music charts with their new release.
On the 21st, Aespa dropped their latest mini-album 'Whiplash', which immediately debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart. The album also reached the top of the charts in 17 countries and regions, including Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Turkey, Hong Kong, Brazil, Russia, and Singapore.
In the Chinese-speaking world, 'Whiplash' dominated the charts. It topped Tencent Music's integrated K-pop chart, as well as QQ Music's album sales and music video rankings.
Aespa’s popularity in Japan also stood out, as they ranked No. 1 on Japan's AWA real-time rising chart and Mora’s latest and daily foreign song charts.
Domestically, Aespa's 'Whiplash' also made an impact. The title track of the same name quickly climbed to the top of major music charts such as Melon, Bugs, and Genie.
Previous releases from Aespa are also continuing to perform well. Karina's solo track 'UP' reached No. 1 on Melon's weekly chart, and 'Supernova' is holding its place on the charts.
Meanwhile, Aespa is hosting a pop-up store event called 'Aespa Week-#Whiplash Mood' in Seoul's Seongsu-dong until November 3rd to celebrate the album release.
