According to Netflix’s "2024 First Half Viewing Report," the Korean drama with the most views among Korean content on Netflix in the first half of this year was 'The Queen of Tears.' The drama received a lot of attention not only in Korea but also internationally, achieving a peak viewership rating of 24.9%, the highest in tvN history.

In the report Netflix released on the 20th, 'The Queen of Tears' recorded 29 million views, landing it in the top 10 of non-English content. This was the highest number among all Korean content available on Netflix in the first half of 2024.

In total, Netflix recorded around 94 billion hours of viewing worldwide in the first half of 2024, with Korean content making up a large portion. Besides 'The Queen of Tears,' other Korean titles like 'Parasyte: The Grey' (25 million views) and 'My Demon' (18 million views) also made it into the top 10 non-English content list.

In the movie category, Korean films also showed great results. The action movie 'The Wilderness (Badland Hunters),' starring Ma Dong Seok, reached 53.6 million views, placing it at 17th globally. This is considered a strong performance for a Korean film, proving its influence in the global market.

However, not all Korean content performed well.

The highly anticipated 'A Killer Paradox' only reached 70th place, while 'Hierarchy' ranked 81st. The critically panned 'Gyeongseong Creature: Season 1' didn't reach the top 100, and the much-anticipated season 3 of 'Sweet Home' didn’t even make it into the top 600, leaving fans disappointed.

The Netflix report also highlighted popular content across different genres for the first half of 2024. In romantic comedies, 'The Mother of the Bride' and 'The Queen of Tears' were fan favorites, while reality shows like 'Love Is Blind' gained attention.
