On July 15, Jeon Guk Jin, who runs the YouTube channel 'Jujak Gambyulsa,' revealed in a video that he received 3 million KRW from fellow YouTuber Gu Je Yeok on February 27, 2023.
Jeon Guk Jin stated, "That was the first and last time I accepted money with malicious intent while doing YouTube."
In the video, Jeon Guk Jin explained that he first received a tip regarding the personal life of another YouTuber, Tzuyang, in November 2020. "I thought it was credible but it didn’t align with the content I was producing at the time, and there was no direct evidence, so I hesitated to make a video about it. Over the next 2-3 years, I closed my shop in Busan and moved to Seoul. While talking with people in Seoul, I heard several negative things about Tzuyang. At that time, I believed that Tzuyang and her former agency's representative (her ex-boyfriend) were on the same side," he said.
He continued, "Economic hardship, my negative perception of Tzuyang, and my assumption that Gu jae yeok had extorted money several times before combined to make me think, 'It wouldn’t hurt to take money from a bad person.' I succumbed to this temptation and contacted Gu jae yeok. While communicating with Gu jae yeok, I also arranged a meeting with Tzuyang's agency, but Gu jae yeok told me to leave it to him and I never met with Tzuyang’s side. Eventually, I received 3 million KRW from Gu jae yeok. At the time, my only thought was, 'I guess I’m not getting much because she's already been extorted by many people.' I did not fully recognize that Tzuyang was a victim who had suffered for a long time."
In conclusion, Jeon guk jin expressed regret, saying, "I deeply regret not resisting that one moment of temptation and making a wrong choice. I am learning firsthand that committing bad deeds comes with significant consequences."
