Actress Song Ji Hyo has yet to receive approximately 10 billion KRW (around $7.7 million USD) in advertising model fees from her former agency.
According to News1's investigation on the 31st, Song Ji Hyo won a lawsuit against her previous agency for unpaid fees in December of last year, but seven months have passed, and she still hasn't received the 10 billion KRW owed to her.
Song Ji Hyo's representative stated on the 31st, "We have obtained a payment order through a civil lawsuit, but the payment has not been enforced." They also mentioned that they are continuing to pursue the necessary procedures to collect the fees from the former agency through debt collection.
When asked for a statement, the CEO of Song Ji Hyo's former agency, Uzurocks, did not provide any comment.
Previously, in November of last year, the first trial court ruled that Uzurocks must pay Song Ji Hyo 9.84 billion KRW plus some delayed interest.
Since Uzurocks did not file an appeal within the two-week period after the verdict was delivered, Song Ji Hyo's victory was finalized in December of that year.
Song Ji Hyo signed an exclusive contract with Uzurocks in October 2022, but due to the non-payment of her fees, she terminated the contract in April of last year. Following this, in May, she filed a criminal complaint against Uzurocks' former CEO for embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes and also filed a civil lawsuit to claim her unpaid fees.
In October of last year, Song Ji Hyo signed a new exclusive contract with Nexus ENM, marking a fresh start.
