A K-pop dance festival is set to take place at the Grammy Museum, a landmark in Los Angeles (LA).
The Korean Cultural Center in LA (KCCLA) announced on the 30th that it will be holding the "GRAMMY Museum x KCCLA K-POP Dance Night" event at 6 PM on August 3rd at the Ray Charles Terrace of the museum, in collaboration with the Grammy Museum.
This event will feature the North American finals of the "K-pop Cover Dance Festival," which has been held every summer since 2011, as well as various programs and events that celebrate K-pop.
A total of 150 teams from across the United States participated in the K-pop Cover Dance Festival, hosted by the Seoul Shinmun. In the upcoming finals, 10 teams that passed the online preliminary rounds will compete to showcase their talents. The team that wins the U.S. finals will advance to the "World Final" in Seoul this September, where they will compete against finalists from other countries.
In addition, there will be a "Random Play Dance" event where anyone can join in and show off their dance skills to randomly selected K-pop songs. Attendees can also visit event booths to take photos wearing traditional Korean accessories like jokduri and gat.
Those interested in participating can register through the Grammy Museum website's program page at www.grammymuseum.org. However, the tickets are currently all sold out.
This event is being held in conjunction with the upcoming K-pop exhibition "HYBE: We Believe In Music," co-hosted by the Grammy Museum and HYBE, which opens on August 2nd.
The Grammy Museum is a museum dedicated to showcasing the history of the Grammy Awards, the world’s most prestigious music awards, and features exhibits related to past Grammy winners.
