'Veteran 2' Officially Invited to the 49th Toronto International Film Festival
The action crime investigation film 'Veteran 2' by director Ryoo Seung Wan has been officially invited to the Special Presentations section of the 49th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which will be held from September 5 to 15, 2024. This marks the film's second international screening following its invitation to the Midnight Screenings section of the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May.
Director Ryoo Seung Wan, who was invited to the Gala Presentations section of TIFF in 2023 with his film 'Smugglers' has received an official invitation to the festival for the second consecutive year. The significance of this invitation is heightened as the sequel 'Veteran 2' is invited nine years after the original 'Veteran' was screened in the Vanguard section in 2015.
The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the world's top four film festivals, along with Cannes, Berlin, and Venice. It is particularly notable for its attendance by key figures in the North American film industry and for being a major gateway for Hollywood popular films. Following its screening at Cannes, 'Veteran 2' will once again showcase its universal cinematic appeal and quality to audiences worldwide.
'Veteran 2' follows the story of veteran detective Seo Do Cheol (played by Hwang Jung Min) and rookie detective Park Sun Woo (played by Jung Hae In) as they join forces to hunt down a notorious serial killer. The film is set to be released in theaters on September 13.
