Jeon Soyeon of (G)I-DLE has caught attention by revealing her impressive earnings from royalties.
On July 10, a video titled "As a Small Girl Representative, I Had a Showdown with Youngji. (feat. Cauldron Tripe, Buldak) | Country Cooking Showdown | (G)I-DLE Soyeon" was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Pixid.'
In the video, Lee Youngji warmly addressed Jeon Soyeon, saying, "Feel free to speak comfortably." Jeon Soyeon responded with a friendly, down-to-earth attitude, saying, "Let's speak casually together."
Jeon Soyeon expressed her curiosity about one of Lee Youngji's songs, asking, "I'm curious, do you really envy the small girl in the song?" She further questioned, "Is 'Small Girl' based on a true story? Did that guy really like the small girl?" Lee Youngji reminisced, "It's a bit ambiguous. I was walking with my boyfriend, and a petite girl greeted him. The height difference between them looked cute."
Lee Youngji explained, "I made money from this song. I guess people love real stories as much as fiction."
The conversation turned to earnings when Lee Youngji asked, "How much do you earn in a month?" Jeon Soyeon replied, "Should I divide my yearly income by months?" This prompted Lee Youngji to marvel, "People who earn a lot don't usually need such calculations."
When asked about her highest earnings, Jeon Soyeon shocked everyone by revealing, "When things are at their peak, I can earn up to 1 billion KRW (approximately 769,231 USD.) a month." She added, "When it's low, I might make only 100,000 KRW."
Lee Youngji speculated, "I think you're downplaying your earnings a bit. The figures I've seen suggest otherwise." Jeon Soyeon sharply responded, "Did you make 1 billion KRW?"
