YG Entertainment has confirmed that a meeting between producer Yang Hyun Suk and the four members of 2NE1, including CL, Park Bom, Dara, and Minzy, took place at the YG building yesterday afternoon (June 27 KST).
Reported on June 28 KST revealed that Yang Hyun Suk and 2NE1 conversed for approximately 2 hours. A representative of YG stated, "Producer Yang greeted each of the 2NE1 members warmly, and the meeting which took place over the course of approximately 2 hours contained many meaningful and profound conversations."
The rep continued, "As an official meeting between producer Yang Hyun Suk and 2NE1 occurred for the first time yesterday after 8 long years, we cannot say at this time that any specific plans have been drawn up. However, it can be said for certain that producer Yang took the time to listen to the requests of each of the 2NE1 members and empathized with their sentiments, and so we hope to deliver good news to the fans in the near future."
Meanwhile, 2NE1 debuted as a 4-member group on May 17, 2009. The group officially concluded its activities on November 25, 2016. Then, for the first time in 6 years, the girl group performed together as a team once again in 2022 at 'Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival'. This year marks their 15th anniversary since debut.
