On the evening of April 13, the seventh episode of SNL Korea Season 5 featuring Kang Tae Oh was released. Throughout the episode, Kang Tae Oh showcased his versatile acting skills by portraying various characters, revealing different facets of his talent. Right from the start, the live studio audience was enthusiastic, cheering him on warmly as he took the stage.

During the opening monologue, Kang Tae Oh brought back his isolation dance, a dance move he is known for when he guested on Running Man in 2018.

In one of the skits of the episode, Kang Tae Oh played a flirty shaman, reminiscent of his past characters and their 'foxy' behavior. 

In another, Kang Tae Oh, who is nicknamed 'Nation's Disappointed Man,' was ditched by his girlfriend, played by actress Yoon Ga Yi, after overusing the phrase '섭섭한데요 (feeling of disappointment)' in different contexts.

He got to show off his physique, too, as he played an athletic man who made everyone turn their heads on him as he went about his routine. In his military discharge day interview, he mentioned that he made up his mind to have a healthy lifestyle. He iterates, "I came out on my last vacation recently. I paid (and started) working out at the gym. I always work out at home. Let's get the hands of an expert and build our bodies properly ,so I paid (for) personal training. I have to eat chicken breast at 8am. I heard I have to eat breakfast regularly, so I have to eat at 8 in the morning. I went to the gym at 10 and worked ou, and I had chicken breast for lunch. I have to eat it every 4 hours, so I have to wake up in the morning. I have to go to bed early and wake up early."

The episode also parodied hit dramas like 'Queen of Tears' and 'Marry my Husband'. To play the character Jung Soo Min, Kang Tae Oh shows off his feminine side. In relation to this, Kang Tae Oh once mentioned in an interview that if he is given a chance to cross-dress like his co-star Jang Do Yoon in Tale of Nokdu, he would be willing to take on the challenge someday as long as it would give him a new and different feel.

Kang Tae Oh received positive reactions from fans appreciating his somewhat unexpected first project after his military discharge.

He will play the role of So Baek-ho, the new director of the Potato Research Institute. He is a person with a fatal smile, a soft voice, and divine visuals that you might see on the cover of a romance novel, but unlike his extravagant appearance, he is simple in many ways and, in a word, an outsider who can thrive on his own. It was reported to start filming on the 1st week of May.
