The music video director of NewJeans' "Bubble Gum" has shared a screenshot on her personal Instagram Story of a KakaoTalk conversation she had with Min Hee Jin one day before HYBE's audit of ADOR.
Across various online forums, the uploaded screenshot is rapidly circulating, shedding a different light on Min Hee Jin compared to recent anonymous statements on Blind from HYBE employees.
Previously, netizens noticed disapproving comments from HYBE employees directed towards Min Hee Jin, with accusations of her alleged "harsh language, power tripping, and attitude issues."
While many found such reactions from HYBE's employees questionable, the new chat uploaded by the MV director underscores the ADOR CEO's gestures during production towards the employee, such as offering to order food for them while working on the MV editing process.
The full conversation reads:
Min Hee Jin: Yeongeum. Hello. LOL. When would it be possible to see the rough edits of 'Bubble Gum,' by any chance?
MV Director: I'm working on it right now...!
Min Hee Jin: Thank you. LOL. Should I send anything yummy to eat at the studio? Are you two [employees] together right now? Where's the studio?"
MV Director: It's okay! You might regret sending the food after seeing my edits, so just check out the outcome first...
Min Hee Jin: LOLOLOL. Or I might actually ask you to eat more and gain strength to re-do the edits after seeing the outcome.
Accompanying the text conversation, the MV director included a photo of a sushi combo takeout sent to the team by Min Hee Jin.
Upon seeing this conversation, netizens once again revisited the famous memes of Min Hee Jin's mention of "Bae Min" (a popular food delivery service) during the press conference, recalling her revelation that the only thing she spent with the company credit card was ordering through 'Bae Min' during night shifts and overtime.
Netizen comments include:
"There really was nothing but Bae Min from Min Hee Jin"
"I bet they were all so shocked and confused when HYBE started an audit out of the blue and spread all sorts of news through media play the day after"
"All they were doing was working hard the day before this crazy thing blew up"
"They worked so hard on NewJeans"
"It's funny because there are a lot of former employees who used to work under Min Hee Jin who are showing support for her, but those anonymous Blind posts that have not shared any solid proof were trying to take her down"
"LOL her only sin was getting too much takeout via Bae Min"
"People say she was a harsh superior and I get it because she's super detail-oriented, but she also appears to have a sweet side"
"I understand that some employees might have had a hard time with her because I can imagine her getting upset at outcomes that are below par based on her standards, but at least she still takes care of her production team and isn't two-faced"
"I want her as my boss lol"
"She was just a hard-working woman"
"She sent some expensive food too, lol"
You don't have to like Min Hee Jin to acknowledge that what is being done to her is unfair. When it comes down to it, corporate corruption is infinitely more harmful than her questionable taste in art. The only people still riding for HYBE are 13 year olds who don't speak a word of Korean and have no concept of how sinister the implication of HYBE's actions are.
I don't want a soulless money-hungry corporation to have the power to force ANY employee out by strong-arming them with media stories and frivolous litigation. Even Min Hee Jin.
